Total knee replacement at 20 years old? Wow, unusual and drastic.
It is quite painful and has quite a recovery time, but as young as you are, you should do great.
I found a good website that should answer all your questions. Your doctor should also have given you some printed literature on the surgery and recovery. I have never seen a doctor not do that.
